Collecting Prescriptions
Allow 3 full working days before collecting your prescription request. This is to allow enough time for us to process it.
We will need a signed consent form from you for someone else to collect prescriptions on your behalf. These are available from reception.
Dispensing
Although we are not a dispensing practice, there is an on-site pharmacy (Core). If you need collection and delivery of your prescription you need to arrange this with your preferred pharmacy.
Questions About Your Prescription
Contact the surgery if you have questions about your medicine or your prescription.
Your local pharmacists can also answer any questions about your prescription. They can answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.
Electronic Prescribing Service (EPS)
The NHS is phasing out green prescriptions. The majority of prescriptions are now processed electronically through EPS.
EPS allows prescribers to send prescriptions electronically to a dispenser of the patient’s choice. They are known as their “nominated” dispenser. Paper prescriptions will continue to be available in special circumstances. Almost all prescriptions will be processed electronically.
If you have a problem with the Pharmacy unable to locate your electronic prescription please speak to Reception staff. They can issue you with a token to take to the chemist to get your medication. Having a nomination means you are able to pick up your prescriptions without needing to collect tokens each time.
